Applicability of this Privacy Policy

We are committed to safeguarding your privacy and information to the best of our capabilities and with due adherence to the industry standards and the applicable laws. This is our privacy policy and it is applicable to anyone who has come across our website or has interacted with our products and services in whatever manner, which includes but are not limited to visiting our website or our physical offices, purchasing and/or using our products or services and through communicating with us directly through our communication platforms or through using third-party communication, etc.

Scope of Privacy Policy

This privacy policy must be read in conjunction with our Terms of Service and are applicable to all customers. The policy matters related to employees, collaborators, affiliates and business partners are governed with separate and personalized agreements duly executed with them individually.

Chrome Extension - What Data We Collect

When you use the DemoFast browser extension to create demos, we collect:

• Visual Data: Screenshots captured during demo recording, used solely to generate your demo content.
• Interaction Metadata: Click events, scroll positions, and HTML element data to generate step-by-step instructions.
• Page Content (interactive demos): If interactive capture is enabled for your workspace, we also save a copy of the page's structure and styling for each step, so viewers can click through a working replica of your product rather than a static image. This includes visible text, layout and styling, and copies of the images, fonts and stylesheets the page loads, which are stored on our servers so your demo keeps working if the original site changes.
• What we mask, and how: Redaction works in two ways, because a demo step is made of two things — a picture and, on interactive capture, a copy of the page.
  • What you type: while masking is on — the default on every plan — values typed into form fields are replaced with asterisks in your browser, before anything is uploaded, so we never receive them. This is irreversible.
  • In the screenshot (Pro plans): password and payment fields (card numbers, security codes, one-time codes and similar) are blurred on the live page while you record, so the picture is taken through the blur rather than edited afterwards. On Pro you can also mark any other element with the redaction tool to blur it the same way. Ordinary fields such as email and telephone are left visible, because they are usually part of what is being demonstrated.
  • On other plans: screenshots are not blurred. Values typed into form fields are still replaced with asterisks before upload on every plan, but whatever is visible on screen appears in the picture — so take the same care you would with any screenshot you were about to share.

  On Pro you can mark any additional element for redaction using the redaction tool during recording. Interactive capture can also be turned off entirely from the extension, in which case only screenshots are taken.

  Masking of typed values is on by default, on every plan. On Pro the person recording can turn it off for a demo where the typed text is part of what is being shown — a search query, or a form being filled in — in which case those values are stored with the demo. Passwords, and anything marked with the redaction tool, stay hidden either way.

  What this does not cover: some payment and sign-in fields are served by a third party inside an embedded frame — Stripe's card fields are the common example. We apply redaction inside embedded frames wherever the browser permits it, but a third party can serve content we are not permitted to reach. Please do not record a live checkout or a real payment screen. Redaction is a safeguard against mistakes, not a guarantee, and you remain responsible for what you choose to record.

• Tab Information: URLs and page titles of tabs you record for demo context.
• Authentication: Secure tokens to keep you logged in.

All demo data is encrypted and stored securely on Cloudflare R2 servers.

When you delete a demo, its screenshots and captured page content are deleted from our storage. Copies of common page assets such as fonts and stylesheets may be retained where they are shared with your other demos in the same workspace, so that those demos keep working. You can request deletion of all your data at any time by contacting us.

Chrome Extension - Permission Justifications

The DemoFast extension requests the following permissions:

• Storage: Save your preferences and temporary recording data before upload.
• Tabs: Identify which tab you're recording and manage recording state.
• Scripting: Inject the recording overlay and capture click events on pages.
• Notifications: Alert you when demos are saved or errors occur.
• Host Permissions: Allow recording on any website you choose to demo.

What Types of Information Does DemoFast Collect?

From a site visitor to a customer we collect several different types of information but in a broader sense it can be separated into two categories:

Personal Information

Most of the information that we receive is personal in nature, such as Name, Registered Email Address, Contact Information, and Company Name, Mailing addresses, geolocation, etc.

Non-Personal Information

All the other information that does not constitute as personal information, such as the website you have visited before entering our website, how you have interacted with our pages, email, screen, with linked clicks, duration and all such information will be regarded as non-personal information.

It is noteworthy that we do not collect or store your credit card or any other financial information and as such information shall be processed by payment gateways.

How Does DemoFast Use Your Information?

DemoFast uses your information for the following purposes:

• To create, manage, and administer your account with DemoFast and effectively discharge our duties within our terms of service.
• To provide proper and effective customer support and assist you on your queries and warn you about any possible threat or assist you to amend any security risk.
• To analyze your traffic patterns, trends, and monitor usage in order to accelerate our services effectively.
• To uphold the interest and security of the DemoFast platform should there arise any situation that may amount to violation of our terms of service.
• To comply with government agencies and adhere to any legal obligation as required by applicable laws.

Does This Policy Apply to Links of Other Websites?

DemoFast is only responsible for the data and information collected on its platform or website. We do not take any responsibilities for any other website that are not owned or operated by us. Therefore, should you land on any other website due to following any link redirecting from our website to any other website, you shall be within the ambit of their privacy policy, not ours.

Could My Information Be Transferred to Other Countries?

Your information could be transferred to other countries where we have stationed our employees remotely. However, such information is to be retained and processed within our servers and system, and no such information will be disclosed publicly until required as per this privacy policy and terms of service.

Individual Data Subject's Rights - Data Access, Portability and Deletion

We are committed to helping our customers meet data subject rights requirements. DemoFast processes or keeps all personal data with compliant providers that have been thoroughly reviewed. We store all data for up to 5 years unless your account is deleted or subscription is cancelled, in which case we dispose of all data in accordance with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, but we will not hold it longer than 60 days.

We are aware that if you are working with customers, you need to be able to provide them with the ability to access, update, retrieve and remove personal data. You can manage and delete user data through our dashboard. Our customer support team is here to answer any questions you might have about data management.

Do Not Track

We do not meddle with certain browser features through which a customer can opt for refraining DemoFast from collecting data should the customer opt for such options.

Amendment or Correction of Data

Customers can opt to amend or correct their personal data from their respective accounts. For data information which are not amendable for correction from the customer portal, they may opt to contact us.

Amendment to This Policy

DemoFast reserves the right to amend this privacy policy at any time. Customers regarding the changes of the privacy policy shall be duly notified to their respective email addresses and via portal notification. This page will also be updated with the amendment of the policy.

Customers are also at their liberty to check this page to look for any amendment that has been made with this privacy policy.

Applicability of Law

By using the DemoFast website or contacting us directly, you signify your acceptance of this Privacy Policy. Should you disagree with this Privacy Policy, you should not engage with our website, or use our services.

We shall not be liable for your continued use of this website despite disagreeing with our privacy policy.
